If you’re looking for a rare opportunity of fun, then you need to check out Maple Canyon. It is a world-renowned location for rock-climbing. It is one of only four locations in the world that has the conglomerate rock that people love to climb on. There are over 500+ routes that can be climbed in the canyon, each having different skill levels.

Also, check out some of the bouldering options around Joe’s Valley Reservoir, located just over the mountain east of Ephraim, Utah. There are also some red sandstone routes just up Ephraim Canyon on New Canyon Road, and some great lava rock routes by the Mt Nebo loop.

Don’t have your own equipment? Not a problem! Maple Canyon Climbing provides an affordable experience for anyone who would like to try rock climbing. Braden Richards, the owner and guide, can take you on many of the routes in Maple Canyon. His rates are very affordable and worth the experience.  Check out the Maple Canyon Climbing website for more information.

Not into rock climbing? That’s okay! You should still visit Maple Canyon to see this unusual area with the conglomerate rocks and maple trees. It is especially beautiful in the fall with the red, yellow, and orange leaves. There are several great hiking trails up the canyon that take you to an arch, a cave, amazing rock formations, a box canyon, and spectacular views of the Sanpete valley. Please be aware that some places require a small fee for day-use activities and/or camping.
